Cultural Activities in Totnes, England

At the Totnes School of English – TANDEM Totnes we offer a full social and cultural program because we believe that you learn English in a variety of different ways, in the classroom, in the host family and, just as importantly, in social situations like school parties and playing sports.

Socialising together with students of other nationalities and cultural backgrounds, as well as getting to know the teachers and staff from the school at our school parties give you the chance to broaden your horizons so that you will return to your home country having learnt more than just better English!

Our regular weekly program (Monday to Friday) is free and includes:

• weekly yoga at the school
• weekly basketball and badminton sessions at the local sports centre
• weekly Internet and DVD evenings at the school
• weekly Thursday afternoon workshops in English culture, art, singing, drumming, sport, natural health and politics
• regular pub quiz evenings
• regular school parties

We also arrange extra paid excursions to other parts of England, to the beautiful South Hams, Devon and Cornwall and sometimes also to Stonehenge, Bath and Wales.

As part of this program, we arrange:

• weekly Saturday trip to either Dartmoor, the South Devon coast or place of interest.
• fortnightly Sunday trips to a choice of destinations including Bath, Bristol, Wales and Cornwall.
• regular trips to clubs in Torquay, Plymouth and Exeter.
